Supplier Session at AHRMM17
A professional development session at AHRMM17 geared toward supplier community:

The Secrets of Successful Collaboration - Strategically Partnering with Providers to Create a Win-Win Environment

Strategically partnering with healthcare providers requires identifying and engaging key players, building trust, transparency, and using direct communication... but how is that best achieved? CQO and the Triple Aim define the value-based model in healthcare, and require suppliers to think differently than in the past. Collaboration is the only way to understand the clinical and economic impact of your products and services to achieve that value. Suppliers are in a unique position to help providers implement the value-based model in their healthcare organizations by collaborating in areas they may not have the expertise or bandwidth to address. This session provides tools and take-aways to understand and strengthen your relationships with providers.

Speaker: Brent Petty, CMRP, Executive Industry Consultant, Global Healthcare Team, Lexmark International, Inc.

AHRMM Exhibitors and Sponsors: You do not have to have a full conference badge to attend – this session is open to AHRMM’s vendors.

This hour-long session will be offered twice on Monday, July 24, at 10:00 am and 11:30 am.

CMS Issues Guidance on Emergency Preparedness Rule Enforcement
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued interpretive guidelines for state survey agencies that will evaluate compliance with new emergency preparedness requirements for hospitals and other providers beginning Nov. 15. The final rule, issued last September, requires healthcare facilities to conduct risk assessments using an all-hazards approach; develop emergency preparedness plans, policies and procedures, including distinct communications plans; and establish training and testing programs. Hospitals, critical access hospitals and long-term care facilities also must have emergency and standby power systems that reflect their emergency plans. For more on the rule, visit the CMS website, which includes a surveyor tool.
