On Monday, July 24, all AHRMM members received an email that provided access to the AHRMM voting website. AHRMM members in attendance at the annual conference have the option of voting on-site at one of the many voting stations located in the level 2 lobby of the Washington E. Washington Convention Center. Please see the AHRMM17 Mobile App for voting times, as they vary per day.
Voting for the 2018 Board ends on Monday, August 7. As an AHRMM member, your participation is vital to the continued success of the Association. Get to know each of the candidates running for the open positions!

BioSimilars: Also known as follow-on biologics, are biologic medical products whose active drug substance is made by a living organism or derived from a living organism by means of recombinant DNA or controlled gene expression methods. BioSimilars are terms used to describe officially approved subsequent versions of innovator biopharmaceutical products made by a different sponsor following patent and exclusivity expiry on the innovator product. Unlike the more common small-molecule drugs, biologics generally exhibit high molecular complexity, and may be quite sensitive to changes in manufacturing processes

U.S. Military gives out $65 million to develop brain implants
The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced that contracts worth a total of $65 million had been distributed to five research organizations and one company working to build brain implants that could revolutionize treatment of people who have lost one or more of their senses.
