MDIC Case for Quality Program – New Report Released
AHRMM is one of the representatives on the MDIC Product Quality Outcomes Analytics project team; a multi-disciplinary group comprised of representatives from manufacturers, providers, FDA, and Value Analysis Committees (VACs).

HTG Summit Held in Rochester, MN
The 2016 Sixth Annual Healthcare Transformation Group (HTG) Summit was hosted by Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota on September 28 & 29, 2016.
 
In addition to updates on the current state of adoption by the represented healthcare providers, a solution provider and industry partner panel was also conducted with representation from AHRMM, Cerner, Epic, GS1 U.S., INFOR, and Oracle PeopleSoft.

CMS Finalizes Key Provisions of MACRA for 2019
On October 14, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a final rule with comment period implementing key provisions of the new physician payment system required by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015. Click here for more information.

CDC: Potential Risk of Infection from Certain Heater-Cooler Devices
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today warned healthcare providers and patients about the potential risk of infection from certain devices used during open heart surgery. Stöckert 3T heater-cooler devices, made by LivaNova PLC (formerly Sorin Group Deutschland GmbH), may have been contaminated with Mycobacterium chimaera during manufacturing, CDC said. For more information, including a CDC Health Advisory and a toolkit for notifying clinicians and patients, click here. FDA Alert: Defibrillator Recall Due to Early Battery Failure Risk
St. Jude Medical has recalled 13 models of its implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators because the batteries may fail earlier than expected, the Food and Drug Administration reported last Tuesday.
