This interactive workshop considers how to formulate and operationalize a successful program based on inter-professional collaboration with clinicians, supply chain staff and value analysis professionals. Included in this discussion are concepts and considerations now being seriously considered based on issues stemming from COVID-19.

Health Care Value Analysis 201: Advanced Concepts in Health Care Value Analysis

In Part II of this two-part series, value analysis maturity models will be discussed in greater detail with a focus on the particular nuances of individual provider and supplier organizations.
This interactive session will include topics covering physician preference strategies - when to use them and what strategies align best by product service lines; case studies in product utilization - how best to analyze, visualize, and normalize practices for effective patient care while controlling costs; how and when to review disruptive technology initiatives and tips on developing and nurturing physician relationships and maintaining strong value analysis teams.
The presentation will include moderated audience discussion of topics discussed as well as concepts and considerations now being seriously considered based on issues stemming from COVID-19.

Gloria Graham DNP, RN, CVAHP, Clinical Value Analyst, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
Gloria Graham DNP, RN, CVAHP has 32 years’ of health care experience which has included positions in neuroscience, emergency medicine, forensic medicine, value analysis and supply chain. Currently, she is a Clinical Value Analyst within the division of Contracts & Value Analysis for Supply Chain Management at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Healthcare Leadership from Mt. St. Joseph University, a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Xavier University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Berea College.
Colleen Cusick, DNP, MBA, RN, FAHRMM, Director, Materials Management, The Johns Hopkins Hospital
Colleen Cusick is a RN with over 42 years of nursing and management experience. As the Director of Materials Management for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, she is responsible for operationalizing supplies & equipment for over 90+ clinical & procedural areas. Colleen has expertise in project management, policy development, product reviews, patient safety, sustainability, and supply chain management. She has a MBA from the Johns Hopkins University and both a MSN and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Vanderbilt University. Colleen is a member of AHRMM and AHVAP and a frequent speaker on supply chain, value analysis and sustainability topics.
